Caribbean Style Eggnog

This drink is eggnog’s bigger and more fabulous cousin.

By adding lime peel and Angostura bitters the Ponche de Creme takes that traditional eggnog flavour and gives it a nice citrus twist.

What is PONCHE DE CREME?nnPonche de Creme (Punch ah creme) is a popular Christmas drink that is often compared to eggnog. This Caribbean drink is a creamy alcoholic concoction infused with citrus and nutmeg.

Ingredients:

    n

  • 6 eggs
  • n

  • 2 limes (or lemons, zested)
  • n

  • 4 1/2 cups evaporated milk (full fat/whole)
  • n

  • 400g condensed milk
  • n

  • 1 cup Oak Infused Rum
  • n

  • 2 teaspoons Angostura Bitters
  • n

  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • n

  • Cinnamon sticks to garnish
  • n

Instructions:

    n

  1. Break the eggs into a large bowl.
  2. n

  3. Add zest to eggs and beat with hand mixer until the eggs are frothy.
  4. n

  5. Pour in evaporated milk, condensed milk and Oak Infused Rum. Add bitters and nutmeg and beat until well blended and everything is incorporated.
  6. n

  7. Strain and pour into a seal able jug and chill ideally for 24 hours or longer.
  8. n

  9. Serve over ice and garnish with a cinnamon stick.
